Imagine a quaint little rambler built in the early 60’s. The bones are strong, but the house is yearning for a modern, updated look. It’s a busy family that lives here. Two teenage boys, three golden retrievers, and parents that work full time. As a bonus, the home is surrounded by beautiful perineal gardens that mirror the love and commitment to this home.

The homeowner’s goal was to achieve an updated farmhouse décor with durable finishes that would with-stand the daily routines of a busy family. The perennial gardens were important too. How could they open their home, so they could enjoy these beautiful gardens?

Our design consultant, who happens to live in this home, put together a plan. The kitchen was updated with Showplace cabinetry in a washed gray, flagstone finish. Cambria quartz countertops were installed on the perimeter. The island showcased a beautiful granite called Nevada. The walls were finished in a off white shiplap. For durability and moisture resistance, a luxury vinyl plank in random widths was installed. To capture the beauty of the perineal gardens, a large picture window was installed above the kitchen sink.

In updating the main floor bathroom, a patterned ceramic tile was installed on the floor. The shower walls were finished in white subway tile with an accent colored grout. The result, AMAZING!
